Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Wizwam collects, uses, and shares information when you visit www.wizwam.com and related public pages on this site. It is the site-wide privacy policy for Google AdSense and European privacy rules. A separate, Discord-only policy exists for the Wizwam Bot application and is not this website policy.

Advertising and consent messaging may appear for visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, and in other regions where Google requires a certified consent experience.

1. Who is responsible

Wizwam operates this website. For privacy questions, access requests, deletion requests, or advertising opt-out questions, email [email protected].

2. What this website collects

We keep collection on the public website limited. Depending on how you use the site, we may process:

  • Technical request data that our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) logs in the ordinary course of delivering pages, such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and approximate location derived from IP
  • Information you choose to send us, such as an email to [email protected] or a message through a contact form if one is enabled
  • Sign-in status for the Apps Platform, if you are already logged in at apps.wizwam.com. The public homepage may make a credentialed request to that service so the header can show your account instead of “Sign In”
  • Public document archive usage, such as which published files you open

We do not ask the public website for a name, payment card, or account password. Authenticated apps, uploads, and internal tools on apps.wizwam.com are separate services with their own login.

3. Cookies and local storage

This site may use cookies, similar identifiers, and browser storage:

  • Strictly necessary / security: Cloudflare and related infrastructure may set cookies or use similar technologies to deliver the site, balance traffic, and protect against abuse.
  • Preference / local features: Some pages use the browser’s speech synthesis to pronounce “Wizwam.” That runs locally in your browser and is not used to identify you.
  • Account: If you use apps.wizwam.com, that service may store session cookies. The public site does not set those cookies itself, but a signed-in browser may send them when the homepage checks login state.
  • Advertising: Google AdSense and Google’s consent / Privacy & messaging tools may set cookies or use local storage to remember your ad choices, measure ads, and (where allowed) personalize ads. See the AdSense section below.

You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect ads, consent messaging, or sign-in detection.

4. Google AdSense

Wizwam uses Google AdSense to show ads on this website. Our Google AdSense publisher ID is pub-9330933596670737.

Depending on your location, your consent choices, and Google’s settings for this site:

  • Personalized ads use information such as cookies, browsing activity, and other identifiers to show ads Google considers more relevant.
  • Non-personalized ads are not based on your past behavior in the same way. They may still use contextual information (for example, the page you are viewing), coarse location, and general technical data, and they may still use cookies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, and to combat fraud and abuse.

Google and its advertising partners may collect and process data as independent controllers or service providers when ads are requested or shown. Google describes that processing in Google’s advertising privacy information and related Google policies.

We do not add AdSense ad units on pages unless they are already present. When ads are enabled, they are served by Google, not stored as first-party ad profiles by Wizwam.

5. Consent messaging for Europe (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Wizwam uses Google’s certified consent management platform (CMP) through Google AdSense Privacy & messaging. That CMP is intended to collect, record, and communicate your advertising and, where applicable, analytics consent choices in line with Google’s EU User Consent Policy.

If you are in a regulated region, you may see a consent or privacy message before personalized ads are used. You can typically change or withdraw those choices later through the same messaging, Google’s ad settings, or by contacting us.

6. Analytics

As of the effective date of this policy, the public wizwam.com pages do not embed Google Analytics, gtag.js, or a similar first-party analytics tag. Cloudflare and our hosting stack may still produce operational logs and aggregated traffic metrics needed to run the site.

If we add analytics later, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent through the CMP before using that data for non-essential purposes.

7. Third parties

We use third parties to operate the site. The main ones are:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, CDN, security, and serverless functions for this site
  • Google — AdSense, Privacy & messaging / certified CMP, and related advertising measurement
  • Apps Platform (apps.wizwam.com) — authenticated Wizwam tools; only relevant if you have an account and your browser is signed in
  • Email and forms — messages you send to [email protected] are processed by our email providers. A contact form (for example Formbricks) may be added later; if so, that provider will process the fields you submit
  • Media hosts — some podcast or video pages may load media from Wizwam or third-party hosts such as YouTube when you choose to play them

Those parties have their own privacy notices. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Retention

Operational logs are kept only as long as needed to deliver, secure, and debug the site, then deleted or overwritten according to our hosting provider’s defaults and our own backup cycle. Emails and support requests are kept as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of the request. Advertising and consent records held by Google are retained under Google’s policies. You can ask us to delete information we hold directly; we will say if a legal or security reason requires a longer hold.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete information we hold, or restrict how we use it
  • Object to certain processing, including direct marketing
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and of personalized advertising, where those laws apply
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting processing that already happened
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

10. Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 where a higher digital-consent age applies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the public site. If you believe a child has provided information to us, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy by posting a new version at https://www.wizwam.com/privacy/. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Material changes that affect advertising or European consent will be reflected here and, where required, in the on-site consent message.
